Natural Facial Cleanse with Coconut Oil and Baking Soda

blog post by Jason Cain about Natural Facial Cleanse with Coconut Oil and Baking Soda

You don’t need fancy, pricey products for smoother, healthy clear skin. Instead, try this simple natural face cleanser, now i know that cleansing your face with coconut oil might not sound like the best idea when you have oily skin, acne or blackhead-prone skin. But, surprisingly, the combination of coconut oil and Baking Soda will strip away not just makeup, but also the sebum and dirt clogging your pores.

Also by combining these two amazingly effective natural ingredients – coconut oil and baking soda, you are able to maintain the normal pH levels of your skin, which helps to prevent acne. And Coconut oil is helpful too because it combines strong moisturizing, healing and antibacterial properties.

Both these natural products are well known in the cosmetic industry and have been used in beauty products for preserving and promoting skin health for a very long time.

Baking soda is known by different names so be careful not to confuse it with baking power (which has Acid salts and Starch components added). Other names are: bicarbonate of soda, sodium bicarbonate, bicarb soda and baking soda’s chemical compound formula is NaHCO3.

Coconut oil is made up of three different medium-chain fatty acids – caprylic acid, capric acid, and lauric acid. These amazing fatty acids have been shown to work together to be effective against bacteria and fungi. The caprylic acid in coconut oil is the most effective of the fatty acids in fighting acne, as it inhibits the growth of the fungi cell and eventually destroys both fungi and bacteria.

Cutibacterium acnes is the relatively slow-growing bacterium that lives on the skin and contributes to the infection of pimples and is the main cause of acne. Baking soda will help to balance the pH levels of your skin which will in turn disrupt the bacteria cycle, and coconut oil will help in kill off this bacteria.

Ingredients:

  • Two teaspoons of extra virgin coconut oil,
  • One teaspoon of baking soda (free of aluminum).

Instructions:

Take a small bowl, put the ingredients in it and mix well. You should get a paste. Use this paste directly on the skin and rub the area slowly. After that, leave it for about five minutes.

Next, use warm water to wash the mixture and while you are rinsing massage the area one more time. The coconut oil has ability to hydrate skin thoroughly, so you won’t need to use a moisturizing cream once the procedure is finished.
